Disney's Animal Kingdom

Soaked after the Kali River Rapids (she giggled the whole time). So excited to meet her "buddy boys" and other friends.

Apparently Sophie got her performing genes from Joe.Still dancing at the end of the day. And that's the last of the Disney stuff...
(thanks to Lyla's grandparents for the funny photo of Joe)

Downtown Disney

400 feet in the air (in a hot air balloon).

This is her "mad face" (she thought she was being made to sit in the "baby seat" on the boat).

I think Framblo has to be my favorite Dwarf

Not a morning person- it's genetic!

With Joe off at the NPPA NewsVideo Workshop, I'm covering his 7am shift, which means some early mornings for my late sleeper.
Mom: Good Morning, Snow White [the name she prefers to be called these days]. Would you like to get up and get dressed or do you want me to help you?

Sophie: [without picking her head up off the pillow or even opening her eyes] I want you to go to your bed and go back to sleep.
Have we entered the teenage years already?

A big fat Disney Magic Kingdom post

In front of "Snow White's" Castle. Waiting for the Aladdin ride. Riding Dumbo! Spinning on the Mad Hatter's Teacups.

We ran into Lyla in Fantasyland.
Not quite as big as Dopey's ears.Ariel, Snow White and Tiana.

Mom: What do you think you'll say to Snow White?

Sophie: Um, thank you for having me? Or maybe nice to meet you?

Kissed by TWO princesses!

Sophie just before getting on the Pirates of the Caribbean:

Mom, I have to walk by myself or the pirates will think I'm a baby.

A Pirate's Time for Me
Watching the Main Street Electrical Parade with Aunt T. Riding the bus back to the hotel with a snuggly new "guy."

Using her magic powers

Using her magic powers
Joe figures if Uncle Ray can be royalty, he can handle being turned into a fairy princess ballerina.

Ah-pooh-stick

Mom: Okay Soph, it's time to get up.
Sophie: But I need someone to snuggle me all winter long.

Sophie runs into the kitchen where I'm making dinner:
Sophie: Mom! I'm trying to do this work, so keep it down!
Mom: [laughing] Okay.
Sophie: Keep it down, man!

Dad: What do you call music that doesn't have any drums?
Sophie: Ah-pooh-stick
• • •
Sophie: God bless America, land that I love. Stand be-spider and ide her...

Sophie: [correcting me] No, they're just called burgers.

Mom: Well, actually they are called hamburgers, but for short we just call them burgers.

Sophie: But you can't call them hamburgers because there isn't any ham in them!

I mentioned this to a few of you, but I don't think we ever blogged it and it's just so cute. At Sophie's school, one day as I was talking to a teacher, Sophie was playing with another student when that girl's dad showed up.

Student's dad: Hi, I'm Hayden's dad and I just have to tell you what your daughter just said.

Mom: Uh-oh...

Student's dad: I said, "What's your name?" and your daughter said, "Sophia." My daughter said, "My sister's name is Sophia" and your daughter said, "I don't have a sister, [this in childlike sing-song tones] I keep on asking, but they still won't get me one."

A quick one

More photos from the Orlando trip to come, but for now, here's one of Sophie playing with the super-cool bead curtain when we were checking in at Aunt T's fancy hotel.
Quotable:
Sophie checking out the Mac Pro in the lobby of the hotel in Orlando,"That Mac looks really fun."
(This one definitely has her father's genes.)
